It’s official, RedOctane announces Guitar Hero II! The game will include a new track list (duh!), new venues, additional play modes (including new multiplayer modes) and your original SG controller will not only work fine with GT2 but it can transform into a rhythm, lead or bass guitar.

According to Executive Producer Steve Gray, the game will feature an open world setting, similar to Bethesda’s Oblivion, that will allow you to roam freely instead of strictly following the main quest. He also states that it will borrow AI technology from the Sims 2.
EA’s website has a short documentary that gives us a teasing glance into the project, and Mr. Gray promises more documentaries, or “video journals” as the project goes on, so stay tuned!
